Custom Metal Fabrication

At AC Custom Metal Work, custom metal fabrication means building the right solution for your property, not forcing a standard product to fit. We fabricate metalwork to your exact needs, with a focus on strength, clean finishes, smooth operation, and long-term value. Whether you need a one-of-a-kind gate, fence section, railing, or a specialty metal feature, we build it with precision and install it the right way.

We are a family-owned, women-owned, and minority-owned company based in Auburn, WA. Since 2003, we have helped property owners across the Seattle metro and surrounding areas with custom metal projects that need to look great and hold up in real-world conditions. Our team brings 20+ years of combined experience, and we are licensed, bonded, and insured for your peace of mind.

What our custom metal fabrication service includes

We handle the full process from concept to completion. That includes site visits, measurements, design details, material planning, fabrication, finishing, installation, and final walkthrough. Because everything is custom fabricated, we can tailor the size, style, layout, and function of each project to match your property and your goals.

Our custom fabrication work is often used for:

  • Automated driveway gates
  • Manual metal gates
  • Metal fences and fence panels
  • Railings for stairs, decks, and entries
  • Decorative and functional metal features
  • Replacement sections or upgrades for existing metal systems
  • Automation upgrades for existing gates

Many customers come to us because they need something that standard store-bought products cannot deliver. In those cases, custom fabrication gives you better fit, better durability, and a finished result that looks made for your property, because it is.

Built for your exact needs

No two properties are the same. Slopes, openings, clearance needs, traffic flow, security concerns, and design preferences all affect the final build. We take the time to understand those details before fabrication starts. That helps us create metalwork that performs well and looks right in the space.

We can customize important details such as:

  • Dimensions and layout
  • Design style and pattern
  • Material thickness and structural strength
  • Finish options and appearance
  • Gate operator compatibility
  • Access control and hardware setup
  • Safety and functionality requirements

For customers looking at gates, we regularly work with trusted hardware and automation brands such as LiftMaster, Chamberlain Elite, CellGate, and Locinox. We can also automate an existing gate when the structure is a good fit for an upgrade.

Our fabrication process

We keep the process clear so you know what to expect. We also offer same-day quotes or visits when scheduling allows.

  1. Project appointment: We set a time with one of our estimators to go over the full scope of work, including measurements, style, finish, function, and special requirements.
  2. Itemized estimate: We send a complete estimate for your review so you can see what is included.
  3. Follow-up and scheduling: We follow up after about two days. Once approved, we sign the contract, collect the down payment, and place the project into our production schedule.
  4. Material ordering and fabrication: We order materials and begin custom fabrication based on the approved design and specifications.
  5. Installation: We coordinate an install date that works for you and complete the installation.
  6. Final review: We walk you through the finished product, explain operation if needed, and collect the final payment.

For projects over $1,500, our payment terms are 50% down at the time of signing and 50% at project completion.

Timelines and planning

Fabrication timelines depend on the type of project, design complexity, materials, finish requirements, and installation conditions. In general, most gate projects take about 3 to 6 weeks, fence projects take about 3 to 6 weeks, and railing projects take about 3 to 4 weeks. We will give you a clearer schedule once we review the details of your project.

Custom work takes planning, but the payoff is a better fit and a stronger result. Our goal is to keep your project moving without cutting corners.

Why customers choose custom fabricated metalwork

Custom metal fabrication gives you more control over both function and appearance. It is a smart option when you want something built to last and made specifically for your property.

  • Better fit: Designed for your exact opening, layout, or use case
  • Stronger performance: Built with durability and structural integrity in mind
  • Professional appearance: Clean lines, quality welds, and finishes that elevate curb appeal
  • More flexibility: Easier to match architectural style, security needs, and access requirements
  • Long-term value: A well-built custom product typically performs better than a one-size-fits-all option

From residential properties to more demanding custom applications, we focus on metalwork that is practical, dependable, and made to handle daily use.

Our experience with gates, fences, and rails

Custom fabrication is the foundation of what we do. Our bread and butter is automated driveway gates, along with fences and rails. We have installed more than 1,000 gates and continue to help customers who want secure, attractive, and fully customized metal solutions. That experience matters because fabrication is not just about making metal pieces. It is about understanding how the finished product will function after installation, how it will age, and how all parts need to work together.

Because we offer full installation, repair, and maintenance services, we look at the big picture. We build with real use in mind, from movement and hardware alignment to long-term wear and serviceability.

Quality you can trust

When you hire us for custom metal fabrication, you are working with a local company that stands behind its craftsmanship. We offer a 60-month warranty on all of our craftsmanship. We also use real project photos from our work, not stock images, so customers can see the kind of results we deliver.

Our team of 8 works hard to give every customer honest communication, reliable scheduling, and quality workmanship from start to finish. We believe custom metalwork should do more than fill a need. It should improve your property, work smoothly, and hold up over time.

Highly recommend AC Custom Metal Work. They did an amazing job with the custom build and installation of our gates. Very high quality work with great attention to details. They made sure all our needs and requests were met. We couldn't be happier with our gates and the work they did. Excellent customer service. Eveyone we dealt with was extremely courteous, responsive, and professional. Plus they are very competitively priced. Highly recommend!!

My wife and I could not be happier with the construction quality and design of a custom metal railing we just had installed on a stepped sidewalk approaching our home's entrance. My expectations were exceeded, as this railing a definitely a notch above any of the typical iron railings seen on most properties. Moreover, Brandon was very receptive my design preferences and easy to work with. I highly recommend AC Custom Metal Work.
