This Seattle property already had metal fencing and railings we had installed over a decade ago. When the client needed additional access control on the side of the building, the challenge was straightforward but critical - whatever we built had to match what was already there. Not just close. Exactly.

That kind of continuity is harder than it sounds. Metal fabrication work done years apart needs to line up in terms of style, finish, and proportions. We went back to our original work, matched the vertical bar spacing, replicated the decorative circle detail in the upper panel, and kept the same matte black finish. The result is seamless.

What we ended up with is a walk gate and fence panel that integrate directly into the existing perimeter. The gate latches securely, swings clean, and controls access to the side passage along the building exterior. It does its job without standing out awkwardly from the metalwork already on the property.

That's really the standard we hold ourselves to on any add-on or expansion work. It should look like it was always there. When you've built a long-term relationship with a client, you already know their property inside and out - and that makes a real difference in the finished product.

Security fencing and pedestrian gates don't have to look industrial or out of place. With the right fabrication and attention to design detail, they can add to a property's appearance while doing exactly what they need to do - keep the right people in and the wrong ones out.
